Sunshine Coast residents looking for a unique night out need look no further than the upcoming Cooran State School Winter Ball fundraiser. Tucked away in the Noosa Hinterland, Cooran is a community that celebrates a diversity of artists and performers once a month at its famous acoustic nights in the century-old Cooran Hall in King St.

From 7pm till midnight August 20 the beautiful venue will again set the scene for an evening of live music as local band The Catbirds, featuring DJ Spiderwebb perform. Locals are invited to dress up and give the timber boards a beating as they dance the night away to a diverse set of cover tunes designed to reinvigorate your best (or worse) dance moves.

Match your moves with your get up.

Dress formal, old or new, kitsch or classic and get ready to enjoy a great night out socialising, dancing and all things music. Patrons can also enjoy a silent auction, lucky door prizes, finger food and bar beverages. Funds raised will assist students attending the annual Cooran school trip to Canberra where students visit landmarks such as the Australian War Memorial and Parliament house to review their studies ofAustralian history and politics and its relevance to modern Australia.

Local residents can utilise a courtesy bus to get to and from the event. Pre-booking is essential to secure a five dollar per trip ticket. Phone Belinda Sparkes on 0408 113 358.

Limited tickets for this special occasion are available and will not be sold at the door. Tickets cost $20 per adult. Please note this is an 18+ only event. For further information contact Polly Back at Fillybaek74@gmail.com, on 0416 197 461 or visit The Winter Ball on Facebook.
