Press Release- Pacific Chamber Players. 4MBS Festival of Music

The Pacific Chamber Players have again been invited to participate in the 4MBS Festival of Classics. The Russian theme has provided Pacific Chamber Players with the opportunity to feature dazzling show pieces by such great Russian masters as Prokofiev, Stravinksy, Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovish, Glinka and Tchaikovsky. Entitled “To Russia with Love”, the programme will include Prokofiev’s pulsating “Overture on Jewish Themes” and Glinka’s passionate Trio Pathetique in D minor. Guest artist Amanda Cole (mezzo) will perform Tchaikovsky’s arrangement “None but the Lonely Heart” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Rose and the Nightingale”.

The three concerts will be performed at Cooran Memorial Hall Saturday 4 June, 2pm; St Peters Catholic Church Coolum Saturday 11th June, 2pm and Caloundra Uniting Church Sunday 12th June

Musicians Janet Brewer, Julie- Anne O’Reilly, Sue Coleman-Mann, Andrew Paszkowski, Anne Bowyer, Sharelle Guest, Ronald Webb, Graham Evans and Neil Heymink will be performing at this festival concert.

Afternoon tea will follow at the conclusion of the concerts.
